The RC66 remote can be programmed to control many different devices. Below you will find code for the following:
DirecTV DVR, DirecTV HD Receiver, DirecTV Receiver, DVD, Stereo Amplifier, Stereo Receiver, TV, VCR
Programming the Remote for TV
- Turn the TV on.
NOTE: Please read steps 2-5 completely before proceeding.
Highlight or write down the codes and component you wish to
program before moving on to step 2. - Locate the 5-digit code for your TV.
- Move the slide switch at the top of the remote to TV.
- Press and hold the MUTE and SELECT keys at the same
time until the green light under the TV icon flashes twice
and then release both keys. - Using the number keys enter the 5-digit code for your
brand of TV. If performed correctly the green light
under TV will flash twice. - Aim the remote at your TV and press the volume up and down. The volume should be controlled. If not repeat steps 2-5 until the volume is being controlled by the remote. Once the Volume is being controlled then check to make sure that the power button will also turn the TV on and off.
- Move the slide at the top back to DirecTV. Your remote should now control your DirecTV as well as the volume and power function of the TV

Programming the Remote for VCR, DVD, Stereo Receiver, Stereo Amplifier
- Turn on the component (e.g. DVD Player) you wish to
program. - Locate the 5-digit code for your component
- Move the slide switch under the AV1 (or AV2) icon.
- Press and hold the MUTE and SELECT keys at the same
time until the green light under AV1 (or AV2) flashes
twice and then release both keys. - Using the number keys enter the 5-digit code for your
brand of component being programmed. If performed
correctly the green light under TV will flash twice. - Aim the remote at your component and press the power
key once. The component should turn off. If it does not
turn off, repeat steps 3 and 4 trying each code for your
brand until you find the correct code. - Repeat steps 1 through 6 to program a new component
under AV2 (or AV1).
