When setting up a Clearview Transcoder for the first time the default IP address for the Control port will be 172.16.70.1. In order to login to the unit I recommend that you set your IPV4 setting on your laptop to the following: IP Address: 172.16.70.254 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0

To change the Control port IP address, after you have logged in navigate to the System tab. From here you will see the IP Address, Subnet Mask, and Default Gateway under the Command/Control Ethernet Settings.
Recommended IP address will be to set unit 1 to 192.168.1.100 and go up from there for any additional units (Example. Unit 2 would use 192.168.1.101) Subnet Mask should be set to 255.255.255.0 and the Default Gateway set to 192.168.1.1 on all units. Once these values have been set you can move onto setting the IP address of the Transcoders.
