Dre

Dre or DirecTV Residential Experience is the home away from home experience brought to the commercial space. Each room and TV will have a DirecTV receiver connected to it much like a guest would have and experience at home. However the Dre uses a hospitality remote and shoot different codes than a traditional residential system. The Dre also uses SWM modules to send signal over coax. Depending on which SWM module the property has installed they can support 8 or 13 tuners per line.

SWM Modules:

SWM-8 – The SWM 8 as it implies offers 8 tuners per SWM

SWM-16 – The SWM 16 has 2 outputs each allowing for 8 tuners per leg.

SWM13- The SWM 13 is a high powered SWM switch for longer line runs that require extra power to reach the receiver and still have usable signal there is a single output and can support 13 tuners on a single line. DO NOT connect your AIM meter directly to a SWM 13 as the output signal will burn your meter out.

SWM-30 Nominal – The SWM 30 is the current SWM being used in installs and has 2 outputs each supporting up to 15 (currently 13 usable) tuners

SWM-30 High Power – The SWM 30 HP is the same as the SWM 30 nominal only its signal output is much higher for longer line runs that need additional signal to reach. DO NOT connect your AIM meter directly to a SWM 30 HP as it will also burn your meter out much like the SWM 13
